Call for Associate Editors

The SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars: Electronic and Electrical Systems is accepting applications for the position of Associate Editor for the following topics:
  • Active Safety, Control Systems, Intelligent Vehicles/ITS, On Board Diagnostics, Safety Research, Sensors and Actuators
  • Control Systems, Distributed Embedded Systems, Intelligent Vehicles/ITS, On Board Diagnostics, Sensors and Actuators
  • Control Systems, On Board Diagnostics, Remote Diagnostics, Safety Research
  • Distributed Embedded Systems, In-Vehicle Software, Remote Software Upload
  • Hybrid Electric Vehicle/Alternative Powertrains
  • Information & Communications Security, In-Vehicle Networks
  • In Vehicle Software (Design, Testing, Reliability)
  • Intelligent Vehicles/ITS, In-Vehicle Networks
  • Wire Harness and Electrical Connection
  • Sensors and Actuators
  • Prognostics–Predictive Maintenance
Duties
  1. Ensuring timely processing of submitted manuscripts
  2. Initial screening of manuscript to determine if peer review is merited
  3. After initial screening, within five working days, inviting suitable peer reviewers and possible alternates
  4. Monitoring the review process to ensure timely peer review, with the result of securing a minimum of three completed reviews
  5. Evaluating the reviewers’ comments and deciding whether to Accept as is [with recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC)], send for Revision, or Reject
  6. In the case of Revision, evaluating the revised manuscript and sending for additional review if needed and finally making a final recommendation to the EIC
Requirements
  1. Published author within the last five years
  2. Experience in the peer-review process
  3. Competency in a subject(s) covered in the respective journal
  4. Detail-oriented and able to monitor progress of assigned articles
  5. At least seven years of experience after receiving Bachelor’s degree
